150 km south of the salt fields, about two hours' drive away on Vietnam's roads, you should discover the beauty of the Nam Cuong sand dunes near the town of Phan Rang. The sand looks like smooth silk sheets that change their shape every hour. The most beautiful time to admire the sand dunes is the dawn. The first blue sunlight rays spread over the yellow sand, create color contrasts of light and darkness and gradually turn into light orange. Nam Kung's dunes are still virgin, as there are still no common tourist routes. Dark-skinned Champa women, traditionally dressed, walk with their children and create silhouettes against the sky and soft sand. A visit to the sand dunes on a day with wind gusts allows you to see how the landscape changes as the sea breeze gently enters and pushes, shaping the slopes of the sand hills as if to suit the movement of the waves at sea.
