Cormorant fishing is done early in the morning hours as well, and to increase turnout, the fishermen throw a giant fishing net into the water, tapping the fish underneath. The cormorants have only to dive into the water, grab them with their sharp beaks, and bring them back to the raft.

Cormorants are a family of aquatic birds that feed on fish, eels, and even crabs. Most cormorant's feathers are dark, especially those of cormorants that live in the northern hemisphere.
