competition of Ice Archery, on a frozen lake

Description:

About twenty men, all belonging to the ethnic group Uriankhai, competed in various rounds. They proudly revealed that their ancestors were the front line in the army of Genghis Khan the great, and therefore had archery in their blood. Although they are the ones to preserve the archery tradition throughout generations, these days, it has spread to all Mongolian districts and has even been titled, "The National Sports" alongside freestyle wrestling and horse races.

The rules are very simple. Two groups of 5-6 archers competed each other. The goal is to hit with the arrow a small ball made of cow leather, from a 40-meter distance, and bounce it out of a small square that is marked with snow around the balls. The balls were put in a line in the centre of the square and their numbers were equal to the total amount of participants in the two groups. The first team to score one ball more than the number of its members, was declared victorious.
