Although tobacco has been a native plant in Cuba for 4,000 years, it only became known to Europeans about 500 years ago. The discovery is attributed to Christopher Columbus, upon his arrival to the shores of the New World in 1492. “People walk around with a half stick of burning wood in their hands, filled with herbs, whilst inhaling smoke into their mouths,” he wrote after meeting the Cuban natives.
This photo was taken in a high iso and therefore it has a painting effect.
