Cuba is the country of cigars and salsa
Cuba is a narrow and long island, the capital of the Caribbean. It is a magical tropical island, "a land of covetousness that no one has seen like it" as Columbus said in 1492. One of the most prominent features of Cuba's culture is the growth of tobacco, and is considered the best cigar country in the world. The African slaves brought to Cuba rhythms and dances that fit well with guitars and melodies. The isolationism and the American boycott in response to the Castro and Guavara revolution left Cuba poor and backward but partly happy. Colonial cities offer an extraordinary combination of passing glory, welcoming citizens, music, salsa and old cars.
